Ok, let's see how these things work.  Haven't tried one before.

<center><table width="300px" border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" style="border: 1px #000000 solid; color: #000000;background-color: #ffffff;"><tr><td><img src="http://www.magatsu.net/maritaltest/wife.jpg" width="72"height="72"></td><td><p style="text-align: center;"><font size="+3">52</font></p><p style="text-align: center;">As a 1930s wife, I am<br/><strong><font size="+2">Average</font></strong></p><p style="text-align: center;"><small><a href="http://www.magatsu.net/maritaltest/">Take the test!</a></small></p></td></tr></table></center>

<center><table width="300px" border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" style="border: 1px #000000 solid; color: #000000;background-color: #ffffff;"><tr><td><img src="http://www.magatsu.net/maritaltest/husband.jpg" width="72"height="72"></td><td><p style="text-align: center;"><font size="+3">122</font></p><p style="text-align: center;">As a 1930s husband, I am<br/><strong><font size="+2">Very Superior</font></strong></p><p style="text-align: center;"><small><a href="http://www.magatsu.net/maritaltest/">Take the test!</a></small></p></td></tr></table></center>

Had to imagine a spouse for some of the answers.
Guess I'd wear the pants in the family.  Who knew?

(now for the big test: does it actually post correctly?)
Edit: clearly not.
So, when they say something like "cut and paste the following into your blog," what do they really mean?

Usually, they ask you what kind of blog and there is specific code for LJ as far as I can tell. It might also matter whether you post in HTML or rich text format.

It's your computer or your posting mode. It came out fine for me.

posting problems
Well, the only other option is to post in HTML instead of rich text, correct? I don't really know HTML, antique that I am. I guess I could just post the particular test results, but I wanted to put a comment or two in, as well.

Re: posting problems
Just type your comments in before or after the block of code. You don't need to do anything fancy with it, so long as you aren't trying to write multiple paragraphs.

Re: posting problems
Thanks. I think I've got it, now.
Not that I actually *understand*, mind you, but I can get it to work, so that's what matters. Seems to me I had several "paragraphs" - or separate lines, anyway, without the [insert HTML break symbol] break character. Don't know why they worked, but I'm not complaining.

HTML - or not.
Ok. I think I can just post it as HTML. Odd that you don't actually need HTML tags to post HTML.

Re: HTML - or not.
Yeah, I just type. I've picked up a few of the tags along the way (like bold, italics) but mostly, I just type.

Re: HTML - or not.
in most browsers i know the <P> entity (for paragraph; used whenever you want to display regular text) is taken as implied when there is no other HTML entity.
